Review of Forebearers of Dusk, by Trinité Gothik (2002)

Good heavens, what a joy to my ears! I was thinking about the glory days of Yes and King Diamond in the Mercyful Fate era. A concept album that tells a fantastic tale. We think of darkness with Years Without Light, Black Moon or Night Charmers. A symphonic music owed to the one-man band Patryk Pigeon (in addition to the synths and bass). You will also discover the enchanting voice of Sophie LeMay (on the verge of soprano on As the Forest Speaks to me). A very clean production. Special mention: Gilbert Riendeau's guitar mastery. A must.

NOTE FROM HOWLING SYN: Gilbert was not yet in the band when the album was recorded — guitars were played by Patryk on FoD.
